This month we’d like you to experiment with representing the dual nature of your personality visually by “cloning” yourself in an image in a style similar to that in this article: https://goo.gl/l79ps0 . The style doesn’t have to be exactly the same (you don’t have to sit next to yourself at a table) but stick with just two parts of your personality being put at odds somehow, and try to keep it simple. You can represent any two differing parts of your personality – juxtapose public/private, inside/outside, at your best/worst, etc… interpret as works best for you.
OUR DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO JANUARY 7TH! HAPPY NEW YEAR! 😀
December Self Portrait Challenge: “Paper or Plastic?”
What this means is up to you, so get creative! You can interpret as you wish – use the prompt as a suggestion for image props or go totally abstract with it. We are looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with!

October Self Portrait Challenge: “Self Expression.”
What this means is that you use your self portraiture to artistically express your inner thoughts, feelings, desires, worries, ideas etc. in whatever way you are moved to do so. This kind of practice allows you to communicate a message you feel strongly about, tell the world something about yourself, and/or therapeutically work through an issue you are struggling with in some way. This ability to communicate something important to us is at the heart of why many of us are passionate about this art form and is one of the primary things that elevates “self portraiture” beyond “selfie” snapshots. So, this month, we’re asking you to dig deep and use your art to express yourself. If you’re willing to go the extra step, we’d also love to see you include some discussion of what you were portraying in the post or caption of your image.
