Mega Challenge 2018: “Emotional”

The theme for our 2018 Mega Challenge is “Emotional.”

This year, we would like you to reflect on emotions, and the experiences you’ve had in life that have created the most memorable ones. Then, rather than creating an image to portray something completely imagined, use your own personal experience to portray and convey an emotion with your self portrait.

OFFICIAL RULES:

Submissions accepted from January 1st – November 30th, 2018*
Entry must be a self portrait that is your original work and adheres to the theme. Only one entry per person.

The self portrait must be current (captured during the submission timeframe of the challenge), though composite elements of the image do not have to be current.

*Facebook events allow only a 2 week period of time to be designated for an “event” – the start and end dates here are November 16th – 30th as those are the last 2 weeks of the submission period. Please note that you may post your submission to the event *any* time between January 1st – November 30th, 2018.

At the end of the submission period, the moderators of The Art of Self Portraiture Community will gather entries and select a group of up to 10 finalists and announce and feature these artists and their images. From these, three winners (1st, 2nd, & 3rd place) will be selected, contacted, and announced. Prizes will be awarded by sponsors.

Please note that moderator judging is subjective (art always is!). Each moderator will cast their vote based on adherence to the theme and rules, as well as their own subjective impressions of the art and aesthetics of entries (such as emotional quality, creativity, overall technical skill required, processing quality, etc). Moderator votes are final and not subject to debate.

Have fun and good luck!
